WHAT WE WANT
At Trunk Novels, we want the novels, novellas, short story collections, and memoirs that you still believe in,
that you still love, but you cannot place with an agent or commercial publisher.
Let’s be perfectly clear: We are not a commercial publisher. We are not a printer. We are not an agent. We
will not place your books in stores.
What we are is a site for people who like to read and who love a good story.
If, after you’ve been rejected by everyone, including your god(s), you still believe in your story, please send
your manuscript to us at trunked@trunknovels.com as a .doc or .rtf file. Please send the entire manuscript
and, if appropriate, a synopsis.
RIGHTS
Trunk Novels makes all the books we publish available in three formats: electronically through our website, as
an e-book in PDF format, and as a trade paperback. We request only the rights required to do so. Copyright
of your work will remain with you.
PAYMENT
At Trunk Novels we do this for love of story and to serve the needs of the readers, but we do believe that all
writers deserve to be paid for their work.
The first month a work is available through Trunk Novels, authors will receive 50% of any reader donations
made to Trunk Novels. Authors will also receive 50% of all net profits on the sale of trade paperbacks for as
long as their work is available through the Trunk Novels’ storefront. Net profits are defined as the cost of the
book minus the printer's production costs and commission.
Let’s be honest. If you are lucky, you will end up with enough to buy a soda and a bag of chips, but you will
gain readers.
